HELEN WEICHMANN
In 1991 Helen had been introduced to Iyengar Yoga through a friend in Frankfurt, Germany, and since then it has been a part of her life. She remembers being fascinated by Iyengar Yoga from the very first class. Firstly because of her great teacher, Klaus Grzesch, Senior Iyengar Yoga teacher,
but secondly because of the structured and systematic teaching of Iyengar Yoga. In 1998 she moved to Melbourne, Australia with her family and there, in 2004, started the teacher training program at St Kilda Iyengar Yoga School.
Since 2006 she has been continuously teaching in yoga schools and in her own studio in Melbourne, Australia.
In 2018 she moved back to Frankfurt and teaches currently at the gymnastics club of Eintracht Frankfurt and at Shiva Yoga. She describes her teaching style as a mixture of demanding and at the same time taking the needs and abilities of the participants into account.
Over the years she has had to overcome health challenges and physical limitations herself so that she pays special attention to problems of her students.
She has attended workshops among others with Mira Mehta, Lois Steinberg, Glen Ceresoli, Joan White, Pixi Lillas, Peter Scott and the Convention with Abhijata Iyengar in Sydney in 2015.
